If you have searched for a dog ball that moves on its own, you have met the Cheerble Wicked Ball. It is the best known product in the category and it has been around longer than we have. People ask us how the FetchSphere Pro compares, so here is the honest version, using Cheerble's own published specs for the Wicked Ball Air as shown on their site on 21 October 2026, and ours for the Pro. Where we do not know something, we say so.

Where Cheerble is the better pick
Three honest points. First, they have hundreds of reviews and years of customers; we are a small Bay Area brand and have a handful. If a long track record matters to you, that is a real difference. Second, their 60-day return window is longer than our 30 days. Third, they sell a replacement shell today and we do not yet, so if you expect to wear a shell out, that is worth something. They also make a larger range: the SE, the Air and others, so if you want a different size or a lighter ball there is more to choose from.
Where the FetchSphere Pro is the better pick
Chewers. Cheerble's own page says the Wicked Ball Air is designed for gentle chewers only. The Pro was built for the dogs in Bay Area dog parks, pit bulls and shepherds included, and we back that with a chew guarantee instead of a disclaimer. The Pro is also heavier (170 g against 130 g), which matters for a big dog: a heavier ball rolls more predictably on grass and is harder to pin and pop. It carries a stated IP54 water rating, so you can rinse it under the tap without guessing. The battery is larger, 500 mAh against 200 mAh, for a similar quoted play time. And every 10 balls we sell, we give one to a random dog.
What we do not know
We have not run the two balls head to head on carpet, on grass, or for noise, and we have not measured their battery claims. The table above is their published numbers and ours. If a review site does that test, we will link it here.
Which should you buy?
- Gentle player, want the established brand, want a spare shell: Cheerble.
- Medium or large dog, power chewer, or you want a guarantee that covers chewing: the FetchSphere Pro.
- Small dog under 25 lb: the FetchSphere Mini, 2.7 inches with a light-up rim.
- Cat or very small dog: the FetchSphere Nano, 2.4 inches with two modes.
For the general rules of choosing a moving ball, size first, shell second, modes third, read our interactive dog ball buying guide.
Meet the FetchSphere family: the FetchSphere Pro (3.1 in, built for medium and large dogs and power chewers, $39.99), the FetchSphere Mini (2.7 in with a light-up LED rim, made for small dogs, puppies and seniors, $34.99) and the FetchSphere Nano (2.4 in, for cats, kittens and very small dogs, $34.99). All three roll and react on their own (the Pro has three play modes, the Nano two, the Mini one), charge over USB-C and wake with a touch. See all three interactive balls, or save $20 on any 2-pack. Every 10 balls sold, we give one to a random dog.
